I’ve wanted to create more video content for awhile and yesterday I set up a new YouTube channel. Most people watch the videos on Facebook and Twitter, but for the non-social media crowd just subscribe and whatever I share to our social channels will also be added to YouTube.
Today’s new video answer the question, “How do you make a successful ad?”
I’m not sure if it is because of Eating Animals, or some other reason, but I’ve noticed a lot of messages on our social media channels along the lines of “How can Natalie talk about how we should treat animals when Dior tests its products on them.”
I don’t have an answer to that but I thought it would be a good idea to summarize the situation. So…
Does Dior test on animals?
It wouldn’t be the first time that advocacy groups would be wrong (see: GMOs) but as far as I can tell, the answer to the question is “yes”, with an important caveat – Dior doesn’t test or work with companies that test unless required to do so by law. China requires testing by law. Dior sells in China. So, for that market, their products are tested.
What does this say about Dior?
It means they’re another company that, like Apple, that even though they do a lot of good they are also willing to compromise in order to access a massive market.
More photos related to the new Dior campaign with Natalie continue to appear. Here we have a couple of them: the first belongs to the photoshoot made by David Bellemere, and the second is a behind-the-scenes picture of the new promotional video:
Although we have already seen the new Miss Dior ad, officially has not yet been released yet… until now. Dior has finally the video (directed by Emmanuel Cossu) in its YouTube channel, plus a small “behind the scenes”, all in glorious HD:
The ad will be aired on French television the evening of Sept. 3. It will make TV appearances in other countries as well, and in certain movie theaters.
WWD and Vogue UK also have some new promotional photos:
If we had a new webpage for Rouge Liquid a couple of days ago, today we have the same with the new campaign for Miss Dior. It is (for the moment) the Chinese minisite version, and we can enjoy the new promotional video in it, as well as some spectacular photos. Here we have, in addition, a #DiorLoveChain video. Once again, thanks to Eden for the find:
A bunch of photos and gifs have landed online, signalling a new Miss Dior commercial on the horizon. There will probably be flowers. There will definitely be a crummy old song. But there will also be a gorgeous Natalie so stay tuned. Thanks to Eden!
EdenLiao found another new Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming clip, with an interview with Dior perfumer-creator François Demachy featuring new footage of Natalie behind the scenes. Click the preview to view the video.
Dior has unveiled today a video with a new version of its perfume, Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming. In it, we can see Natalie and François Demachy, perfumer-creator of the house, walking through the fields of Provence:
The official launch will be on September 1, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to see the new ads…
We have a great weekend surprise thanks to Eden_Liao. It is a video of Natalie picking out the scents that go into her Miss Dior perfume. Of most interest is that Natalie is speaking French throughout…perhaps French fans can update us in the comments as to how her pronunciation and fluency is progressing.
Struggling with the video autoplay so I am putting it after the jump. Or click the thumb below to go to the site and view it there.
We have a couple videos from the recent Dior exhibition in Beijing, which Natalie attended as Miss Dior. The first video is a focused interview with Natalie, while the second has more footage from the event itself, with a couple Natalie sightings thrown in for good measure.
Natalie was in attendance at the opening of a Miss Dior exhibition in Beijing earlier today, marking her first public appearance in over a month. We’ve added a handful of photos of Natalie at the event to the gallery, with hopefully more to come.
