around the world

Hiya

I was going to set up a new poll but I’m drawing a blank. Anyone got any ideas?

Misaki sent me the news that Nat is up for Best Supporting Actress (for Closer) in the 3rd Italian Online Movie Awards. If your Italian is up to scratch you can check out the site here.

Since things are a bit quiet, let’s see some Nat news from other countries.

Virginie sends word that the April issue of Studio Magazine (France) has a Garden State review/preview…

Braff himself is excellent in the main part and Natalie Portman appears more radiant than ever in a character that suits her marvelously. Only one of her laugh is enough to symbolize this romantic and crazy movie which makes us want to fall in love and marks the beginning of a major author/director.

…and also features a piece about “6 American actresses that mix beauty and talent and whose movies are on screen now”.

NATALIE PORTMAN
“A funny girl and a girl who is funny”, that is how Natalie Portman defines her character in Garden State. A young girl with problems whom Zack Braff, her movie partner and director, falls passionately in love with.

An independent movie with a low budget, a young staff, a brilliant scenario, that is what seduced the 23 years old actress, just after shooting the last episode of Star Wars, where she plays Amidala.
The one who was the little girl in Leon, the young widow in Cold Mountain, who won a Golden Globe for best actress in a second part in Closer, every time surprises and pleases us more and more.

While Starstyle Magazine (Dutch) has a small article about the makeup Nat uses to get her look.

And Who Magazine (Australia) has Nat as one of their 25 most beautiful people.

Nat-Ah-Lee found an auction for the dress (not the actual dress) that Nat wore to this event. If you’ve got money to burn…

Just one piece of fanart today, this drawing from Irma.

And finally, an apology to Sean who submitted an entry to the photoshop contest but it was mistakenly left out. For once it wasn’t my fault. I’m not one to point fingers but let’s just say the guilty party’s name starts with a K, ends with an S and is similar to Chris.

For the record, this was Sean’s entry.

Night.
