we’ve done it!

Yes, thats right. After all these years we’ve finally managed to get an interview with Natalie. Sanjiro, who seemed like he had been doing nothing between his last corner update in January and his Portmania updates last week, was actually planning his trip to Toronto.

So without further adieu, SANJIRO vs NATALIE.

Another great piece of news is that Kris has rewritten the code so the new random pics now link to the galleries they come from. I had no idea how many people used that feature…never underestimate laziness I guess 😉

And finally, Mark has a heads up on a new Nat film rumour. The project in question is the adaptation of Michael Chabron’s pulitzer prize winning novel . There’s a lot of validity because the following comments come directly from the author.

The fate of this project–whether it will move at last from the nebulousness of pre-pre-production into really-truly pre-production, with a budget and cast and everything, will be decided on or around 12 July 2006. Miss Natalie Portman is a strong likelihood for the part of Rosa; other casting is ongoing, as are work on the script (a lot of cutting) and tests conducted by a number of top-drawer animation studios (for the comic book elements). Quick answers (as of this date): Golem: yes. Antarctica: yes. Gay love story: yes. Ruins of World’s Fair: no. Long Island: no. Orson Welles: no. Salvador Dali: yes. Loving reference to Betty and Veronica: no. Stan Lee: no.

You can find out more about the novel at wikipedia and amazon.

If anyone has read it and can offer some insight and thoughts, send me a line.

Have a swell weekend.
