new year with paris

Hi again

I promised a new poll and so…

Here you go

That was inspired by catching some of Head in the Clouds on TV the other night.

And here are the results of the last poll.

If you could see just one movie today, which would it be?
The Other Boleyn Girl 55.03% (624 votes)

Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium 44.09% (500 votes)

Quite close but I assume the pull of Scarlett and Nat is too great.

Speaking of Magorium, I was asked to remove that new publicity pic as it was never intended to see the light of day this early. It was a very friendly request, which is a nice change from those threatening letters that just make me want to dig my heels in and be difficult.

And finally, Lohr just sent word that Paris Je T’aime will be released on the 4th of January. If its not dubbed I have really got to get my hands on that. I’m sure a lot of you feel the same.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another comic. Till then.

Vote: Lolita. Since it wasn’t very good.

The Ice Storm on the other hand is great, but to be honest I’m not sure if she would have been better in it than Christina Ricci (assuming that was the part she turned down).

    I voted Lolita also.

When i 1st saw that movie i just felt sick. Its was disturbing as fuck, It did have some good/cute/funny moments, but if i wanted to watch a little whore walking around, i’d video tape the girls at school.

It was a good movie and everything, but the role’s just disgusting and degrading.

Biggest mystery ever I think, is why did Natalie turn down the part in The Ice Storm?
To be honest I dont know f she would have been better than ms. Ricci either minimaggit, but its a marvelous story and movie that might have given her a big boost, not to say have been a big experience also, just by looking at the cast. Anyway a great movie I would love to experience ms. Portman in.
Ohh I voted Lolita also. 🙂

JenR: I still don’t feel it’s necessary a bad thing taking degrading roles, that movie just wasn’t anything special (especially since the original is aging quite well).

But if you think about it her role in Closer could be seen as degrading, not to mention Star Wars (where she has the opposite development compared to the trilogy as a hole, her character gets worse and worse for every movie).
