What the hell am I looking at?

You’re looking at the new design, bitches!

Since its our 9th anniversary and birthday I thought that, instead of the usual recap of our time in charge of the site, let’s instead look forward.

Even though the new design wasn’t entirely ready, we decided to throw common sense out the window and get “something” up today.

So, while it is up it’s definitely not finished – hence the “beta” on the banner.

Click on to read a few important notes regarding the new design.

– The Image Gallery will still load with the old layout. This will be fixed within the next few days.

– The Latest News images don’t line up perfectly. This will be fixed soon as well.

– There’s going to be a lot of content (including the archives) in the Everything Else menu link. Currently there is nothing in it. Content will start to be added during the week.

– There is currently no link to the Pic Battle from the main page. We still need to work that out but there are plenty of news items linking to it.

– Photo of the Week is currently a bit of a placeholder. The idea is to pick a gallery for the week and have 3 or 4 of the best images from that gallery rotating. Then the next week a new gallery link and a new batch of rotating pics.

– The banner and banner image will probably rotate but that’s near the bottom of the to do list and there will be just a few choice rotations.

– There are other new features planned. RSS and tags (to making finding old updates easier) is definitely on the agenda and Rachel is egging for an “upcoming and recent” movies section for the side.

– You’ll now be able to see how many comments have been left for an update.

– We’ve added a permanent Social Bookmarking button after every update. PLEASE use it to share important updates with the rest of the net. It’s really important for the site’s survival and prosperity.

I think that pretty much covers it. Please leave us your feedback in the comments section and let us know if any parts of the site are not working since the switch over.

A huge thanks to Diane (check out her web design site here), Kris and Rachel.

UPDATE

– You can add Comments Section doesn’t work to that list of problems. Will hopefully be fixed later. In the mean time you can leave comments in this forum thread.
