P&P&Z

My Pride and Prejudice and Zombies digging has yielded nothing, which often means that things are in the early stages of something.

Shocktillyoudrop was able to contact a source who confirms that something is happening but that there’s a lot of interest in the book (releasing in April) and no deals have been made yet.

Tonight, Production Weekly reports Natalie Portman (V for Vendetta) is attached to the project, however, a quick phone call to a source close to the project yielded this response. “Premature. No offers or handshakes of any kind yet – other people circling.”

These days its important to remember Natalie’s attachment to a project may not necessarily mean an acting gig. While directing and writing are unlikely possibilities, producing is very much on the cards.

An earlier Shocktillyoudrop update had this interesting bit of info regarding the book:

Roughly 85% of Austen’s original novel, which is in public domain allowing Grahame-Smith to get away with this feat, remains in “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” And we can confirm, Hollywood is watching the buzz on this experiment.

Apparently Seth Grahame-Smith’s previous book, How To Survive A Horror Movie, was a blast but this is going to be considerably trickier to pull off.

One thing you can’t say is that this is a boring rumour.
