Tidbits

Another good batch of smaller news items coming at ya.

– King of the world, James Cameron, has weighed in on Black Swan via his twitter page.

Did everyone love Black Swan as much as me? My daughter Josa & I are 2 thumbs way up on Aronofsky’s masterpiece. Natalie P is magnificent.

Natalie big and blue in Avatar 2. Let the rumours start now!

Backstage.com has a new article, in which she again reiterates that she dropped out of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because she felt she was now too old for the role. I also liked this quote, which I don’t think I’ve seen before.

Portman recalls, “There were moments when I questioned it, when I was thinking, ‘What is the purpose of this in our world? Is it as meaningful as being a doctor, being a teacher, or things that I think of as such noble professions?’ But I think I’ve really reconciled myself with that, and I think art is not only important but critical to the soul of a human and the soul of a community. Not to be self-important about what I do, but I’ve found a lot of meaning in it.” That said, she recognizes a certain degree of “silliness” to what she does. “There really is something ridiculous about dressing up and pretending to be someone else,” she says with a laugh. “But I think it’s wonderful to do something in life that’s a little bit silly.”

– That Snow White film, which Natalie was linked to, is now going ahead with Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3) writing the script. The film is going to be called Snow And The Seven, but if there was ever any interest from Natalie, it’s certain that she’s not involved anymore.

– And finally, Madea as the Black Swan? No thanks.
