Loki Interview Preview

Kitten just found a preview of Natalie’s Elle interview, conducted by Tom Hiddleston, and I was really impressed by these two answers in particular. You can read the rest of the preview over here.

Natalie on falling in and out of love on a whim:

‘I see it a lot – this romantic view of the world where you fall in and out of love on a whim. It ignores the depth of trying to know another human being and respect them and love them, and puts in its place the excitement of an immediate intimacy. But really knowing someone? That is such an opportunity.’

Natalie on feminism:

‘I want every version of a woman and a man to be possible. I want women and men to be able to be full-time parents or full-time working people or any combination of the two. I want both to be able to do whatever they want sexually without being called names. I want them to be allowed to be weak and strong and happy and sad – human, basically. The fallacy in Hollywood is that if you’re making a “feminist” story, the woman kicks ass and wins. That’s not feminist, that’s macho. A movie about a weak, vulnerable woman can be feminist if it shows a real person that we can empathise with.’

More Elle

The Elle site (click the link below) has a tease of the upcoming magazine appearance. They reveal that the Tom Hiddleston interview of Natalie, which we mentioned a week or two back, is for this issue of Elle. Can’t wait to see the full shoot and it looks like a behind the scenes video is on the way as well. The issue will hit newstands next week.

It’s less than a week until our November issue hits newsstands and we’re so excited, we couldn’t wait to tell you who our cover star is: Natalie Portman.

It’s the second time the Hollywood actress has appeared on our cover – she graced our February 2010 issue, just as she won the Oscar for Black Swan.

This time around? She’s been photographed by Kai Z Feng wearing a sequinned Versace jacket and Barbara Bui white shirt. And those subscribers amongst you will get to see her in an incredible blush pink jumpsuit by her designer friends Rodarte, complete with sequinned wings.

Inside she’s interviewed by her fellow actor, Thor co-star and friend, Tom Hiddleston – but we’re not revealing all of our secrets yet.

Come back next week to read exclusive quotes from the interview and see her behind-the-cover film.

Loki And Jane

Actors interviewing actors can be a lot of fun, like when Natalie was interviewed by Hugo Weaving (and vice versa) for V For Vendetta, or when she was joined by Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire for Brothers (really a must see). It’s also pretty cool when just text based, like when Natalie interviewed Ziyi Zhang for Interview Magazine.

Adding to the list will be an upcoming interview of Natalie by Tom Hiddleston. Can’t say what form it will take, but more than likely an upcoming Interview Magazine feature. Here is Tom mentioning it to The Huffington Post. Thanks to Belerofonte.

“Tom Hiddleston: I just recently did your job.

What do you mean?
Well, I mean I conducted an interview and had to transcribe it.

Transcribing is awful, right?
It’s the hardest thing in the world.

Who did you interview?
I was interviewing Natalie Portman.

Did you enjoy being on that side of it?
Very much so, yeah.

How so?
I liked listening. And I actually thought, I’d better do my research, like serious reporter. I went back and watched all of her films — and then you begin to see things differently I guess. The biggest thing I took away from it is actually the perception of the interviewee is a subjective thing. That’s what I realized. I realized how much it’s my particular view of Natalie. I can’t possibly be objective; I bring who I am to the table. And it made me realize, like, your interview with me is your interview with me.”

Gallery Updates

I’ve updated the gallery with a new photo of Natalie posing with her Thor: The Dark World costars, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston, for People’s Photo Booth at the D23 Expo last month. Not sure if it’s the lighting, but I could’ve sworn they looked like cardboard cutouts of themselves at first glance…

Thor At Comic Con

Marvel’s panel at Comic Con was last night and, as we warned, Natalie was not in attendance. It kicked off with a section on Thor: The Dark World. Tom Hiddleston came out as Loki and it sounded like a freaking Beatles concert. They also showed the new full trailer for the film, but while we have the entire panel embedded below, the trailer was not filmed. However Rachel found a description, if you can’t bare waiting.

Loki Talks Thor 2

Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki, let a few Thor 2 tidbits spill when discussing the first film’s Blu-ray release with MTV.

The key points were…

– He expects to film the sequel in the spring.
– As of last week, no director has been signed up. Game Of Thrones director, Brian Kirk, who had reportedly gotten the gig is still in the running for the job though.
– The sequel will follow on from The Avengers storyline.

Still no confirmation that Natalie will be in it, but I would guess it won’t be long till we hear that news.
