its TRUE

Hiya

This is going to be an update and a half so grab the popcorn cos here we go!

The nat news just gets better and better. NP.de is reporting that True will appear in German cinemas in front of ‘Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken’ (aka ‘Love in Thoughts’) on the 12th of February.

For those of you pseudo nat fans who don’t know what True is, check out this page for the details.

Make no mistake, this will be some of Natalie’s best work and while, at the moment, it’s just the Germans who get to see it, maybe it’ll be available to the rest of us soon. At least there’s now some hope because it looks like it’s gonna be a loooong time before we get to see the finished Paris j’Taime.

Happy am I.

Right, moving along…

Natalie will be narrating ‘Voices of the Holocaust: Children Speak’, a web based exhibit. You can find more information over here. Thanks to Samantha.

I’ve been meaning to mention this for awhile but I was waiting for the right time. And since I don’t actually know what the right time is I’ll just mention it now cos, well, maybe this is the right time?

Ted Demme who directed Natalie in the wonderful Beautiful Girls and who recently passed away, is getting a film tribute done for him. The documentary is called ‘In Tribute to Ted Demme’ and Natalie’s contribution sounds very interesting…

“The urn plays a key role in the film, “In Search of Ted Demme,” a documentary with a mockumentary subplot written by LaGravenese and Leary.
In it, Amanda “lends” the urn to friends so they can spend “quality time” with Ted’s ashes. Natalie Portman goes ice skating with it, reprising her scene from Demme’s 1996 film “Beautiful Girls.” Colin Quinn plays basketball with it. Robert Patrick straps the urn to his Harley and takes it for a ride. Balthazar Getty boxes with it.

Very interesting indeed.

Willie sent in this Yahoo link where Nat speaks about her role in Cold Mountain and once again mentions how she keeps her characters seperate.

Nat-AH-lee has been keeping an eye on all things british and came up with a number of articles.

Talking about Garden State

“It was so fun to work on, because everyone was really there because they wanted to be working on it not for any other silly reasons that people sometimes use to justify their filmmaking. It’s really this weird romantic comedy type thing but very strange. It’s funny! I’m excited about it – I’m interested to see how audiences react to it.”

Talking about the ‘sick’ fight in EP3

“It was incredible, it was like an amazing dance. It was so beautiful and I was lucky enough to get to watch it.”

And also some less than riveting comments about EP3

You know it’s a slow day in Hollywood when we lead with celebrity blah, and does anyone really care about Star Wars anymore? Even Natalie Portman aka Queen Amidala had a hard time staying awake when talking to MTV about Episode III. She shrugs: “Is it going to be worth it? Well, we worked really hard. I think all of us were trying to make it as good as possible.” Hmm. Is that the distant squeak of a starlet back peddling?

“It was our last chance to, you know, do something with it,” she adds, “so, I’m hoping…”

Nat-AH-lee has also spotted Natalie on British tv, wearing a black jumper and big silver hoop earrings while talking about Cold Mountain. If you’re in Britain, keep your eyes on the box.

Luke made this interesting find…

The CBS drama ‘Without a Trace’ that revolves around a unit within the FBIs missing person section ran a new episode this week that involved a paparazi trying to go good.

In the process, a bunch of negatives are found that put some stars in silly compromising positions, including Natalie.

“Hey, Natalie Portman topless on the beach…”

“Still looking for the Natalie Portman photo? Its in [his] cubicle…”

Not surprising, but not normal. They went out of their way to use her name and stayed away from using the usual suspects involved in expose photos, which the show spoofed.

Heh.

Kathleen has just read the play for Closer and I thought her comments would be of interest to you all so…

I just finished reading the play Closer, which, as you know, is Natalie?s next onscreen endeavor. I must admit that it?s damn good. I couldn?t stop reading it. It?s so sexual and vulgar, but they don?t really show it; they just talk about it. Have you read it? The dialogue was realistic, sharp, witty, and even sad. Reading Natalie?s character, Alice, made me think of Léon often. She?s the youngest person of the two couples, and Jude Law?s character is somewhat of a father figure to her. And it?s a very meaty role as her character is emotionally screwed-up (as the other three are as well).

But the fact that Julia Roberts is in it makes me cringe. I can?t see her pulling off a British accent or being anything like her character. If I were to cast this, I?d keep Natalie and Jude where they are and fire Julia. I haven?t seen any of Clive Owens?s performances, but as I was reading it, I imagined Christian Bale in his role. In place of Julia, I?d give Elizabeth Hurley a chance. I just know that Natalie will absolutely own her role.

Time for a silly animated pic break.

Silly animated pic ->

Thanks to the BBC and Nat-AH-lee for that.

Dapper Dan sent in this very strange article.

JENNIFER LOPEZ rewarded Natalie Portman for taking an interest in her fashion line by bestowing bags of new clothes on her. When the bootylicious one heard that Portman had tried to order a pair of J-Lo by Jennifer Lopez jeans and a signature velour tracksuit, she was, according to WENN, “more than happy” to have her minions send her a selection for free.

Hey, J-Lo, I like your house…*waits by the mailbox*

Lauryn (strange way to spell that name) saw this Nat blurb on tv:

Just wanted to let you know that Natalie made a brief appearance on VH1’s 100 Hottest Hotties. She didn’t make the list, but Jenna Jameson, when asked who she thought was the hottest ‘naughty librarian’, chose Natalie. Then they showed a quick clip of Nat. It was towards the end of the show, when they were around #3 or #4 on the list.

When did porn stars become so mainstream? But hey, porn star or not, she’s right on the money as far as I’m concerned.

I promised a Garden State poll and so, on the eve of it’s premiere, here it is.

The results of the Cold Mountain poll look absolutely nothing like this:

What did you think of Cold Mountain?

I haven’t seen it yet. 54.86% (412 votes)

Fantastic film with a great Natalie performance. 28.1% (211 votes)

Crap film with a great Natalie performance. 7.99% (60 votes)

It was ok, she was ok, no big deal. 6.66% (50 votes)

Fantastic film with a crap Natalie performance. 1.33% (10 votes)

Seems most people who saw it are glad they did so.

My bed is looking mighty inviting but its the home stretch so I’ll plug on. Here comes the fanart.

I’m not sure exactly what this is…but it’s cool and it’s from Naxet.

And completing Nat-AH-lee’s domination of this update, here’s a drawing she did.

Right, that’s about it. Tomorrow Garden State is unleashed on the world. I can’t wait.

Till then, ciao.
