here cometh the news

Ok, so let’s get all the big events from the last few days out the way.

A million and 3 people have emailed me the big news that Nat is FINALLY going to be doing SNL on the 4th of March. If you’re a regular you’ll remember that we posted this early last month.

An old friend of mine, Soulplex, dropped me a line just now. He says that a (celeb connected) friend of his says that Nat will be hosting SNL on March 4th.

So kudo’s to Soulplex. I’m not a fan of SNL but it should be a lot of fun to see Nat hosting and doing some comedy.

Of course, she’ll be doing the show to promote V for Vendetta and yesterday there was a Superbowl ad for the film. It’s up on the official site if you haven’t seen it yet. But if you want to go in unspoiled, rather give it a miss. Amy sent in a cap of the one new glimpse of Nat from the trailer.

Let’s keep the V news going with Moriaty finally posting his review on AICN. His review is positive but not wildly so. He has some problems with the film and it seems a very fair and measured review. Here’s what he said about Nat…

Evey, the central character in both the book and the film, is brought to vivid life by Natalie Portman, doing arguably her best work since THE PROFESSIONAL.

Be careful with the review though. While Moraity avoids spoilers he includes a link to a very negative review of the film and THAT review will definitely spoil some of the surprises.

UPDATE
For some reason, the review has been removed from AICN. Hopefully it’ll be back up.

In this article about Love Benefit, it has an interesting Nat mention.

Love will feature short plays by: Julia Jordan (the upcoming musical Ever After), Brooke Berman (Smashing, now being made into a film produced by Natalie Portman)

That’s the first I’ve heard of it. Hopefully we’ll hear more about this soon. Thanks to Chris.

Cal has the breaking news that Jason Bateman of Arrested Development fame (if you don’t watch the show, shoot yourself now) has joined the cast of Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. I struggled to imagine who would be best for the role of the accountant but when I heard this news I had to smile. It’s purrrfect casting.

And finally, Melody has added some pics to the GG gallery including this hilarious pic of Nat and Bryce Howard.

Ok, I think that’s all the major stuff. I’ll be back soon with more. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for that Vogue shoot.
