I lied

Since its just past midnight here, and the cat has long since bolted from its bag, I think its time to fess up officially.

Every update today was fake, with the exception of the Natalie-Scarlett rumour, which is true in the sense that we didn’t create it although fake in the sense that my sources have told me that Natalie has nothing to do with the project.

A week ago I realized that April 1st was coming up and thought that considering our genuinely crappy financial situation, some kind of pay scheme might sound plausible. Of course we’d never really institute such a plan. I think that gag was something of a success. I even got a really angry email about it. Score.

Rachel did a lot of work putting together the design of the splash page, so thanks as always to Rachel.

The poster was obviously fake so, as Kate correctly guessed in the comments, I thought it would maybe work up front as a bit of a red herring.

The wallpapers were just a bit of fun and thanks to Silversurfer for putting them together for me on such short notice.

The Scarlett-Nat rumour was actually found yesterday but I wanted to hold it off so I could throw this bit of truth in amongst the BS, to further confuse the situation.

And then the Variety article, which I think came out great. I suggested it to Kris, not knowing the lengths he would go to to make it look genuine. This included paying for a url that’s almost identical to that of Variety and making the page close to fully functional. I think it looks fantastic so big kudos to Kris.

There were a couple give aways in the time the article was posted as well as the author being A.Ayers, as a reference to Alice Ayers – the name Natalie’s character lies about in Closer. Quite fitting I think.

Although, imo, the casting was quite a give away in itself. Especially Hugh Jackman playing the role of Clone/Aussietrooper 😛

Hopefully we caught out a few people and made a few others laugh. Now back to normality.
