Anne Hathaway toasts Natalie

I like Anne Hathaway. Always thought she seemed really nice and you can’t go wrong with dark hair and fair skin (unless you’re goth), but I was never overly impressed with her acting ability. That changed after Rachel Getting Married, so I’m curious to see whether she can deliver on that level again. All of which has nothing to do with this new report from NY Daily News.

The “Bride Wars” star showed up last week to support Natalie Portman’s new venture, the behind-the-scenes entertainment industry Web site MakingOf.com, at Tribeca’s Marble House. Says an industry insider: “There’s buzz in Hollywood that Natalie should have gotten the part [in the Judy Garland biopic “Get Happy”] that Anne landed. Anne wanted to pay her respects and make sure there was no bad blood.”

The luminous Hathaway toasted Portman with a glass of Moet and went merrily on her way, somewhere over the rainbow.
