Stuart Leaves Thor

By January 10, 2010Nat-news

I’m sorry but this is possibly great news. I kinda loathe Stuart Townsend as an actor, so even though I don’t know his replacement, I’m still really happy about this news. From Superhero Hype.

Stuart Townsend has left the production of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, in which he had been cast in the role of Fandral, one of the Warriors Three, over creative differences. He has already been replaced by virtual unknown Joshua Dallas, who recently appeared in the horror sequel The Descent: Part 2 and has a part in the George Lucas produced Red Tails.

The change in cast happened last week, just as the film was about to start shooting on Monday, and it’s the second last minute replacement Townsend has faced, after being replaced by Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy in a similar situation.

Or was he fired?

Yay! I hate Townsend. I don’t think he’s a good actor and he’s always seemed kinda like a smug bastard to me. A douchebag, really.

(Hadn’t known about the LotR thing; thank god that happend.)

LOOOOOOL! Townsend seems like such an arse so I’m pleased he is gone. He’s actually the one casting decision I was iffy about.

I don’t even know anything about this Joshua Dallas guy but I’m pleased for him. He must not believe his luck! Can you imagine what a big break this must be for him?

He’s a pretty good looking dude. Would have liked someone a bit older but, oh well.
