Indiana Win Plus AFI And Broadcast Critics

By December 13, 2010Nat-news

Okay, sure, its Indiana, but that’s still something to feel good about. The Indiana Film Journalists have given Natalie Best Actress with Jennifer Lawrence as the runner up. Black Swan didn’t win Best Film but was one of the finalists (so to was Scott Pilgrim, great choice!).

Their results are over at Awards Daily.

Natalie has also been nominated by the Broadcast Film Critics and maybe even better news, Black Swan lead the way with 12 nominations. Very impressive.

The nominations are over here.

Lastly, Black Swan was named one of AFI’s top 10 films of the year.

So happy that Mila Kunis got nominated for a BFCA. Tomorrow they announce the Globe nominations. Let’s hope Black Swan gets lots of love from them as well. BTW, Nat won the NY Online Film Critics award, the more “prestigious” New York Film Critics Circle announces their winner today.

I’m sure all of Portman’s fans aren’t as coastally obnoxious as the above poster.

    And it’s “it’s” not “its.”

I’m pretty certain Garcy has no personal preference over coasts or cities. She’s not even American. She’s referring to the perception of the NYFCC awards from the industry. They have a much greater history than the Indiana group, for example.

As Sasha Stone recently mentioned, a lot of these other critics groups have either sprung up over just the past decade or, if they did exist prior to that, their awards are only recently being given media attention.
