New Poll + Music Video Results

By May 5, 2012Site-news

Since there were a handful of interesting news items this week, I wasn’t sure what to focus the new poll on. I thought it would be a fun way to gauge the enthusiasm by including all the big news items of the week and letting you guys pick what news excited you the most.

The best news of the week poll

There weren’t many votes for the last poll, which probably speaks to how shrug worthy Natalie’s music video’s have been thus far. Nevertheless, those who voted think that My Valentine is comfortably her best work and the oddball silliness of Carmensita was in second spot.

Full results after the jump…

Which music video was the best?

My Valentine – 48.8% (39 votes)

Carmensita – 21.3% (17 votes)

Dance Tonight – 17.5% (14 votes)

They’re all great – 8.8% (7 votes)

They’re all bad – 3.8% (3 votes)

Hehe, sort of OT, sort of not…I keep getting a watch ad. The internet is so creepy. Whenever I do searches for stuff on Amazon or the like, I get ads on the same type of stuff here. I know how search engines work and all, but it’s still creepy…I mean, how does it know we’re TALKING about watches? I haven’t searched for one. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Anyway, yeah…

Jess, that’s easy. Watch ad goes up, it’s looking for keywords or associations that will possibly connect to it’s product. Someone does a search for watches or talks about watches in a blog and boom, there you are, google can easily identify search items and text and load that ad.

There are more devious and subtle things going on as well, the kind of stuff that was mentioned in this great TED talk.
