The World War 2 project, In The Garden Of Beasts, based on the novel of the same name and starring Tom Hanks, has been suspiciously quiet since news first broke that Natalie was in talks to star as Hanks’ daughter. Director, Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), talked to Variety about his upcoming film with Zach Galafianakis and gave us an update on Garden as well.
Hazanavicus said he will then likely move on to direct “In the Garden of Beasts,” the Universal Pictures/Tom Hanks’ Playtone project based on Erik Larson’s nonfiction book “In the Garden of Beasts.”
The report goes on to mention that Natalie is still “in talks” (meaning, give me a call when you’re ready to make the damn thing) and I reached out to our source and got an affirmative that Natalie is definitely still interested in the project.
The bad news is that the Zach film will only shoot late this year or early 2015, so Beasts is still quite a ways off.
Thanks to Belerofonte.
