Early Jackie Buzz

By March 2, 2016Nat-news

Expectations for Jackie are rising fast – is this a good thing or a bad thing?

The Playlist has Jackie as one of the top films expected to contend for the Oscar in 2017.

We looked at the script by Noah Oppenheim way back in the day, and it was a very strong piece of work even then, and Larrain’s cast it with ringers like Portman, Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, Peter Sarsgaard and John Hurt. The movie wraps shortly, and should be ready for the fall festivals: it doesn’t have a distributor yet, but assuming this lives up to expectations, it’ll be a contender.

They also feature Natalie’s Jackie as one of the early contenders for Best Actress.

It has every possibility of being another tour-de-force for Portman, and if director Pablo Larrain can pull it off, could not just see Portman nominated, but maybe even winning her second.

I think the film and Natalie will either be really amazing or flop badly. I don’t think there’s an in-between. With Natalie’s recent luck with films I’m not very optimistic. But I hope to be proved wrong and I hope Natalie really nails it. I think she will need to get the voice and mannerisms right. Natalie doesn’t really look like Jackie but as long as she gets her persona right that it doesn’t really matter.

Fingers crossed that it will be true ! On the paper, I think they are true but we saw so many Natalie’s movies going wrong because of various reasons, I stay realistic.

Looking forward to see this film and hoping Natalie can win her second Oscar with this film.

:There is always a difference between Expectations and Reality…LIFE imitates Art Or Art imitates LIFE…Oscar Wilde, in his 1889 essay “The Decay of Lying” said that, “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life”.
