Dazza Watches Thor 3D

  • Post author:

For once I get to see a Natalie film before most North American visitors to this site. If Thor had opened here after the US, I probably wouldn’t have rushed out to see it as soon as possible. But considering how rare it is for us to get a big film before a domestic release, I had to jump at the chance.

My thoughts will have some minor spoilers but I will stay away from big details and provide warning if I do tread to close to more serious spoilers.

Dazza Watches No Strings Attached

Okay, a bit late to the party on this one. At least I’ll be able to see Thor next week and get to run with the pack for a change.

With my Black Swan thoughts I didn’t feel I had too much to add as there had already been so many great opinions expressed about that film. With No Strings Attached, I also feel I don’t have a hell of a lot to say, but this time it’s just that…there’s not much to say.

For my mostly spoiler free thoughts, hit the jump.

Black Swan Nightclub Scene

  • Post author:

After the jump I’ve got 30 captures from the frenetic night club scene that the editor of Black Swan said was the most complicated scene in the film, involving 1000 manipulated images over just 45 seconds of screen time.

If you thought it was a case of mostly normal club scenes with the odd bit of subtle crazy thrown in, think again. It was probably the exact opposite of that, with only a handful of “wow, a normal looking shot” thrown in.

Obviously, you may want to avoid these images, although it’s hard to classify them as spoilers because you can watch the film 100 times and you still won’t be able to pick out most of this stuff, unless you slow it down.

Now, let’s hop down the rabbit hole.

All The Producers Do Not Love Sarah Lane

Bonus points to anyone recognizing my title joke.

Right, so we all know that Natalie had a ballet double for Black Swan and that any time the camera is focused on just feet or leg work, it’s not Natalie. Along with that, Natalie’s face was digitally inserted in one or two full body shots where the double, Sarah Lane, was doing really complicated feet work that would be impossible for a non ballerina.

We all know this because it has been mentioned plenty of times. But Sarah feels that it hasn’t been mentioned enough and she’s not getting the credit she deserves for her work on the film, although the author of this Magazine Dance article seems even more upset than Sarah.

She feels slighted that Natalie didn’t mention her at the Oscars – I guess that’s one down side to naming more people than other winners, those who then aren’t mentioned feel shafted. But she did thank more below the line crew than any recent winners that I can recall.
