Before I get to the meat and potatoes of the update, a quick note for those of you who use the comments section. Please DO NOT paste a long url into a comment. I don’t care what it is, it will be deleted. This is because it stretches out the page.

If you want to link to a URL just use the simple HTML code for linking.

(a href=”http://www.nameofsite.com”)Click me(/a)

Just replace the ( and ) with < and > and you’re good to go.

Alright, time for dinner…

It was very close but the results of the banner poll are in and…

What should we do to the Halloween banner, currently at the top of the page?

It’s too creepy for the rotation. Dump it. 36.12% (225 votes)

I don’t mind/care. 32.74% (204 votes)

It’s cool. Keep it. 30.98% (193 votes)

Maybe I shouldn’t have included a “don’t mind” option cos I was sorta hoping it would be conclusive one way or the other. Nevertheless, the no’s have it and the banner is toast.

We’ve got a new poll up. Have at it!

Zephyr has an interesting Natalie spotting and report.

I just wanted to contact natalieportman.com to say she spoke about microfinance at the Oxford Union yesterday, and then took questions from the audience — many of whom felt compelled to tell her that she was a great actress / how beautiful she was, etc. I was there! She really is small, & she has funny elfin ears. There was a guy taking pictures with a professional camera but I don’t know if they’ll be published, on the web or elsewhere.

Keep an eye out for any coverage or pics from the event.

Amo found a little image of a handbag Nat donated to charity.

And the final bit of news is that Paris Je T’aime has now opened in Portugal. Natalie’s segment is short but definitely worth checking out if you have the chance.

Now for a few wallpapers.

Scott kicks things off with two fantastic wallpapers. Click here and here.

And here is a nice wallpaper from Chris.

That’s all for now.
