Tessa Eyed For Annihilation

By January 5, 2016Nat-news

Tessa Thompson, who I was a little bit blown away by in Dear White People, looks to be the frontrunner for the third spot in Alex Garland’s upcoming sci-fi, Annihilation. Even though we never got official confirmation, it certainly sounds like the other two starring roles are settled – Gina Rodriguez and of course Natalie. This would certainly make for a very beautiful and diverse trio of women and given that I’m still riding on a high from Garland’s last film, I really really really hope this pans out.

It’s interesting how Tilda Swinton and Frances McDormand were rumoured for the other parts earlier on but they decided to go with lesser known actors. I think there’s still one more lead role available. Maybe they want to spend more money on the film itself rather than salaries? I hope that’s the case and there aren’t any problems.

Very into this casting news. Tessa Thompson’s fantastic, and I was utterly charmed by Gina Rodriguez in Jane the Virgin.
