Ramsaygate

I have a little time free at work so I want to quickly share a couple more small additions to the big story of Lynne Ramsay failing to show up for work on Jane Got A Gun.

We haven’t heard Ramsay’s side of the story yet, and part of that reason might be because her manager is no longer representing her. Why? Well it turns out her manager was Jessica Steindorff, the daughter of the Jane producer Scott Steindorff. The Huffington Post has a quote where she says that family comes first.

Then we have a report from Screen Daily, which is the first to suggest that Michael Fassbender left the project not because of scheduling but because of a falling out with the director. Ouch.

I’m sure there’s a lot to come on this story, including the hopefully imminent announcement of a replacement director. I’m all in on Patty Jenkins.

Good to know they found someone on such short notice and I can’t wait to see the first pictures. Still, it’s a shame they had to replace Fassbender.

Again, I don’t know why they keep saying Fassbender didn’t leave because of scheduling: they’re supposed to start shooting X-Men in the next few days.
