It’s DAY 3 of PORTMANIA XXVIII, and it’s Sunday, the day of rest. So let’s all just lie down and take a nap!

Alright now that we got the nap out of the way we can concentrate on resting.  Let’s sip some lemonade.

Today is the half way point of PORTMANIA 28. Two days done, two days to go! Just stuck in the middle with NATALIE.

Today’s PORTMANIA celebration is the 30th anniversary of Mars Attacks!

Natalie plays Taffy, the daughter of Jack Nicholson and Glenn Close.

Recently on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Natalie told a story about how excited she was to meet Martin Short at the Golden Globes that year. You can skip to about 10:20 to get to that part OR you can watch the whole interview! I know which one I’d do!

So she’s never met Martin Short until the 2024 Golden Globes.

BUT Martin Short was one of her co-stars in Mars Attacks!

And so I thought to myself “Well, self, maybe they have no scenes together, it’s a large cast.” And myself said “Yeah, it’s been a few years since we’ve seen the movie.” And I agreed.

BUT then I see this picture!

That’s Martin Short on the left and in the background on the sofa is Natalie Portman!

Okay. So they’re in a scene together.  At least two. But maybe they didn’t really interact at all. And she finally met him properly 20 some years later at the Golden Globes.

BUT then I see this picture!

Natalie and Martin Short together at the Mars Attacks! premiere!! So what happened? How did she block this out? Does Natalie have AMNESIA??

Anyway. It’s unsolved mystery.

So happy anniversary Mars Attacks!
